Weight gain caused by junk food during Covid
I have understood the importance of eating well and portion control. It was difficult, but with Aunty’s help, I have lost 11 kgs.
Saihaj’s mother was clear about one thing – the glow of her skin should not be affected by the diet. We started by counselling both Saihaj and her mother and created a personalized meal plan. Emphasis was on hydration – drinking 2.5 litres of plain water everyday to clear the toxins from the body: the results ‘weight loss and glow” are there for all to see.
It’s easier to munch and overeat fast food, namkeens and chocolates! Our certified nutritionist Mone emphasised the need to stop eating all packet foods and encouraged Saihaj’s mother to make these at home. To help her, we shared recipes of dishes, namkeens and soups to ensure yummy, healthy food was served. During the festivals, we suggested making sweets at home with jaggery, dates and other alternative sweeteners.
Over the four months journey, Mone helped Saiihaj realise the importance of portion control. Consumption of rice, chapatis, veggies, pizzas, burgers and pastas (yes that’s part of the diet) were regulated. Hats off to Saihaj for her commitment to the meal plan: it was instrumental in helping her lose weight every week. During the counselling session, we discussed how to manage hunger pangs, especially during the first couple of weeks.

Because of Covid, I was sitting and studying all the time. The boredom made me turn to junk food, and without realising my weight increased. Since I started following Mona Aunty, I started losing weight in the first week, and my skin also started glowing. I am eager to lose more weight.
